![]() What is a systems engineer, and how do we make them? Are systems engineers born or can it be taught, and what is a systems engineer anyway? This interactive workshop based event will give you the chance to air your views and join the nature vs. nurture debate as we seek to establish the requirements for a systems engineer, how these requirements could be met, and how to verify that systems engineering is being done. ![]() A year (and a bit) in the life of MODAF MODAF has been with us officially since September 2005, and many of us will have encountered it in some manner as part of our day-to-day work. This event will attempt to demystify some of the more capability based views, which may be unfamiliar to design oriented engineers, by providing a worked example of how MODAF has been used to assist in analysing a “Search and Rescue” capability. ![]() Keeping the Floor Level on the New Underground As part of the Public Private Partnership with LUL, Metronet are modernising the sub-surface lines comprising Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City and District Lines. The Mayor of London has an aspiration to have a modern metro which is inclusive and accessible for all. Metronet have committed to support LUL in developing a step-free railway. Metronet’s contribution is to design and build a train and platform train interface that complies with Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations and the notion of a level access at the train doors. ![]() Requirements Elicitation Techniques In a slight departure from our normal events, this event will be split into two linked elements. The afternoon session will be a Workshop based tutorial. Delegates will make use of a range of requirements elicitation techniques to produce a short requirements document for a pre-prepared topical problem. Experienced practitioners will provide guidance on the application of each of the elicitation techniques, and mentor the delegates during the workshop. Stakeholder roles will be played by the committee. There are 3 Documents for this event, click here to view |
